The Wolves of Arcohaem are an elite Republic strike team deemed too unpredictable to be trusted in the formal military. They were originally a group of 8 Republic Majors, but a handful of their members have been lost. Vaesha died due to the premature detonation of one of Aeroneiros' devices. They didn't get along, so it's pretty suspicious, but it's unlikely that he actually did it on purpose. You never know though. Arrius sacrificed himself to save a Harengon family, and Rikkix vanished in a blizzard and has yet to be found.
Species: Awakened Owlbear
Class: Rogue
Background: Fisher
Personality:
Malgruff is first and foremost a fisherman, and a wrathful one at that.
He's clumsy, he lacks hierarchy, and he really hates elves (knife ears).
He likes fish and rodents, and he has an enchanted fishing rod. His
primary goal in life is to fish, and eat people who stop him from fishing.
He also values doing the right thing (generally) but that moral compass
only goes so far when people disturb his life's work.
Backstory:
Malgruff has a tragic backstory. He was adopted from an animal shelter as a young lad by a family of nobles.
They were corrupt, and got angry at him. That much he could handle, it wasn't that bad. However, one fateful
day they interrupted his fishing, and that was too far. He killed them all and joined the military soon after.
Theme:
Species: Goliath (Stone Giant)
Class: Fighter - Paladin
Background: Sailor
Personality:
A lighthearted, direct, and protective individual. He uses simplistic language, has a heavy laugh, and pretends to be a philosopher.
He likes meat stews, doors, the calm before the storm, and the thickest part of the storm / battle. He dislikes being hurt, and E-Tech.
He's a practical fellow, so he'll still use E-Tech when it comes down to it, but he prefers classical combat. He would rather die
than let someone else die, he has no sense of self preservation or fear of danger, he takes things literally, and another thing I see
here in my notes that I don't want to put on the internet. His primary goal is to protect people, and to protect his way of life.
Backstory:
He lived in a southern village named Hak'Thor in Freyland. He was a little guy, and a late bloomer. His dad was Doorhinge, and his mother
was named Nailstrike. They were a loving family. One night, a boat docked on the shores with no one on board. At least, they thought no one
was on board. Something made its way into the village, and in one night, took out half of the town.
It looked like a shadow with red eyes, horns, and large claws. It hurt to look at, like the light was vanishing around it.
Doornail barely survived the encounter with what has now been colloquially deemed "the Wraith" by local drunks and conspiracy theorists. His
inability to save his parents and the image of that thing will haunt him for the rest of his life. You know what else will haunt him for the
rest of his life? The fact that he's one of the only people to ever actually see the Wraith and live and no one will ever believe him.
Once he grew, he took to the Depths Frigid for blubber harvesting and deep net fishing. He yearns for the sea, as the children yearn for the mines. He's a traditionalist at heart, being from the south and all, but not a radicalized and violent one like the Frigoshians. Unity and peace is more important to him than pure history and culture, so he sided with the Republic.
Theme:
Species: Orc
Class: Monk / Rogue
Background: Soldier
Personality:
Brogus is a very kind individual for someone of his size. After years of PMC work, he's now just content with reading, sipping tea, and dumping.
Sometimes all at once. He loves chilling in a cave by a fire with his friends, and is essentially a dirty red coat in disguise. He dislikes conflict
and values people's lives, so he will always try to find a better way. Unfortunately, in his line of work, most people don't listen to reason. He's
unable to admit when he's wrong, and will usually blame other people. He hates that he's a skilled hand to hand fighter, and apologizes the whole time.
His primary goal in life as of now is to retire. He wants this to be his final job. He yearns for the finer things in life, and hopes he'll be able to
sit back and relax in his sunset years (even though he's only in his 40's). As long as he can get the job done, and help people along the way, he'll be happy.
But, if he can prevent any conflict along the way, he'll be sure to give it a shot.
Backstory:
Raised in Lemnaeus by a pretty wealthy family of exporters. His childhood wasn't really that interesting. He didn't go into the family business, but
nowadays, he wishes he had. Years and years of being a combat specialist has taken its toll, and he's got the scars to prove it. His family is native
to Lemnaeus, but they usually spend most of their time in and around the Great Saline Sea.
Theme:
Species: Dwarf
Class: Scholar
Background: Sage
Personality:
A stubborn and hot-headed but loyal friend. He's kind at heart, and likes cheese, aged ale, loyalty, and respect.
He dislikes forest ents, elven men (knife ears), wine, and Frigoshians. His greatest weakness is far and away his love of cheese, and
food and drink in general, but especially cheese. He's also a little racist towards elves and forest ents, which can
complicate things. His primary goal in life is to avenge the death of his wife Elanor (and also to make lots of money).
Backstory:
He came from the mountains of Sindri and despite being a dwarven funneler, he was generally quite respected. He and his wife Elanor
lived a pretty standard middle-class life overseeing some small mining operations in Sindri. One night, when nothing was particularly
out of the ordinary, explosions rocked the mountains below his residence. Him and Ealanor went to investigate, but got separated.
By the time he found her, she was dead. He never saw who did it, but she had been killed with a burning spear. From that day on, he
vowed to avenge the death of his wife no matter the costs. He's been in the military for a few years, and has several battle scars.
Once, a Frigoshian slashed his face with a spear, giving him a large scar across his now blinded and white left eye.

PLACEHOLDER IMAGE
Finding artificer artwork is shockingly hard!
Species: Half-Elf
Class: Artificer
Background: Artisan
Personality:
Aeroneiros is an intelligent, creative, and largely absent-minded individual. He's obsessed with E-Tech, and
with his inventions. He likes it when people appreciate his inventions, populated cities, justice, frostberries, and explosions.
He doesn't like anything that's broken, farms, icetail eel, and people touching his blueprints. He's a little vindictive, arrogant,
and impatient when it comes to dealing with stupid people. Also, his inventions have a bad history of going wrong (he doesn't like to
talk about what happened with Vaesha). His primary goal is to complete his service to the Republic so that he can make his dream
invention. He never wanted to join the military, but he was pressured by his parents, and he also realized how shockingly well it
paid. If he completed his service, he'd be able to invent for the rest of his life! Also, he's got a custom toolkit that he can
use to invent pretty much whatever he wants.
Backstory:
Aeroneiros was born in middle-class Skaad to two merchants. His inventions and contraptions would often malfunction, causing him
to be the victim of much bullying and derision. He was even bullied by his parents who constantly nagged him to pursue a career in
the Republic.
